Bible Study
Leader: Rev. Dr. John B. Barker Location: Counting Room
The late great classical scholar, Frank Bourne, taught Roman History at Princeton University. He was fond of saying, In the age of Pax Americana, there's no more important lesson we can teach young Americans than the rise and decline of Pax Romana." He always began and ended each day's lesson with the Latin words De Nobis fibula narrator, which means, "Their story is our story."
The same can be said about the accounts of the leaders of ancient Israel. Their stories and struggles are relevant today. The issues of trust and obedience are important for us.
This month's lessons will focus on some if Israel's rulers.
